France and Switzerland are home to the world’s biggest connected ski area with literally hundreds of kilometres of runs available for skiing or snowboarding. This means you can find new pistes to explore, without ever having to cover the same track twice. Here you will be able to look out and see nothing but over 3000 meter high peaks as far as the eye can see. It’s a view you won’t soon forget!
We always select a new location to explore, so even our returning guests won’t get bored during our annual ski trip to France or Switzerland that takes place at the beginning of each year. Besides the endless possibilities skiing on the pistes, you can also hit the fresh snow and freeride down the mountain.
It helps that we know countless hidden gems in the French Alps, so we don’t have to battle the overcrowded lifts of the most popular runs. We’ll make unforgettable memories on backcountry ski days in the untouched natural environment of the Alps, perhaps enjoying an afternoon tea break while relaxing on a wooden bridge atop an icy creek.
Heading on top of fresh snow off-piste or in the backcountry is a completely different experience than skiing or snowboarding on blue, red or black runs. Away from marked terrain, you need a different kind of skill-set. But once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll always be hankering for this kind of off-the-beaten-track scene. During this trip, even beginner freeriders can learn the basics. Don’t worry if you want to stick to the trails, the runs are great here, so even if you opt to stay on-piste you won’t get bored.
The duration of the trip lasts from meeting at French Alps until the departure home from the same place. The way there and back might take an extra day, depending on where you are travelling from.
Our base is a typical fully equipped Alpine apartment, with 4-6 beds. The small kitchen is perfect for fresh baked croissant breakfasts and cozy fondue dinners. On the terrace you can enjoy the view of the mountains with some cold beers. The apartments are located at the base of the mountain near the ski lift.

Arrival to the Mountains checking into the apartments and enjoying the first beers on the terrace. In the evening there will be a group briefing where we will discuss details for the week taking in account, snowfall and weather conditions.
Every day the group will meet at the base of the mountain and go for friendly guided freeride runs. Based on snow conditions and weather forecast we will always choose the best parts of the mountain to ride on. We will make several groups based on freeriding skills. The more advanced groups will hit hard lines, steep couloirs, go higher and climb more. The intermediates and the beginners will always have easier more mellow lines and less challenging routes. Safety is the foundation of freeriding, during the week we will have a theoretical and a practical avalanche and safety briefing to get a better knowledge of the winter mountain conditions.
During the week of snow-sports, the greatest emphasis is on skiing and snowboarding, but we’ll also have plenty of time to enjoy après-ski in style. We’ll sample some of the best local produces from cheese-makers, enjoy a bottle or two of Kronenbourg, and discover some of the region’s best break-through French wines. Plus, after a long day of skiing we’ll take time to regenerate and rest our muscles in a hot sauna.
After enjoying the last fresh baked croissant and baguet breakfast of the week, we will check out of our apartments and say goodbye to the mountains.
The program is subject to change at any times. The final itinerary depends on current weather and snow conditions, the group’s skiing/snowboarding skills and stamina.

Not at all. Half of the group usually comes alone, so you can be sure you'll make new friends! The apartment has double bed rooms, if you don't want to be paired with one of your super friendly group mates, you can ask for single bed room for an additional fee, please request this in the application form.
Since we are going every year to the biggest resorts in the world, everybody can find slopes suitable for their abilities. For freeriders if you ride with confidence on stronger red slopes and you feel like going off-piste, than it's your camp! There will be more guides and we will be divided to groups according to different skill levels, so you don't need to be worried about waiting for others or others waiting for you.
We will stay on a high mountain in winter time. Be prepared for everything between -25 - +10 degrees, from snow storms with strong wind to clear, sunny and mild weather. Lots of layers are always better than a super warm down jacket.
The friendly freeride guiding will be done by GoBeyond team members. In the first few days we explore the region, share experiences of the best terrains and lines in the evening next to a beer and we make plans for the next days.
Ski or snowboard equipment and appropriate ski clothing, preferably suitable for off-piste skiing and basic avalanche safety kit (transceiver, probe, shovel). Equipment rental is solvable let us know if you need any help in advance.
The accommodation is always high standard apartments with fully equipped kitchen, therefore your spending mostly depends on how much you use your kitchen and how often do you go to restaurants. Very low budget case: 150 EUR, but with an excessive visit of mountain restaurants and bars it can climb up to 500 EUR or even more.
You should choose an insurance which expands for going off-piste, and is valid in France. You should be aware that the blue EU health insurance card and the insurance of your bank card is not valid in most cases.
Every apartment has Fully equipped kitchen, in the supermarket you can find all kind of fresh, healthy and gourmet delicacies of the French cuisine (eg.: cheeses, wines, foie gras). And in the town you'll find numerous possibilities to try out the Savoyard specialities such as fondue and raclette.
It is safe to say that GoBeyond was created because the founder is a fanatic freerider, and he had not found any organized ski trips that lived up to his expectations - to score untracked powder on a great terrain, regardless of how far we have to travel to find it.
Although we like infrastructure, we are not afraid to climb for a good ride off-piste.
When we go on a ski trip, we like to indulge in the culinary and wellness options of the given country.
