We’re firm believers that truly great travel is not about ticking sights off a checklist, but rather about having unique experiences and learning new skills. During our Moroccan adventure, you can extensively learn about two things: waves and Berber culture.
Let’s start with the waves. Morocco is the African continent’s major surf destination. It became popular for its right-handed point breaks, and surfers from all over the world have been visiting since 1950.
Even if you’re a beginner, by the end of the week you’ll have the basics covered. The longest and most beginner-friendly wave in Morocco is located in the small fishermen’s village of Imsouane. At low tide, this wave is perfect for beginners, while at high tide, pro surfers can practice on the right- and left-handed reef breaks on the other side of the bay.
Our home base is located directly on top of the rocks above the crashing waves, offering a breathtaking view over the famous bay of Imsouane. We spend the evenings chilling on our rooftop terrace or around the pool.
We visit traditional Berber markets where we can select from authentic Berber woven crafts or sample bright and colorful Moroccan spices. We also explore Morocco’s coolest port, Essaouira, which was founded by the Carthaginians. Many rockstars discovered this place in the sixties, it is even said that Jimi Hendrix spent quite some time here.
The sights of Morocco are only rivaled by its sounds—none more iconic than the muezzin’s call to prayer, which resounds and echoes off the streets and houses across the city five times a day.

Moroccan-style villa with pool and breathtaking views directly overlooking the bay of Imsouane. With the waves of the legendary surf spot crashing directly below us, we can always head down to the beach if we feel like it, or even watch the surfers from the sun loungers by the pool.
In the super-talented 4-5-bed apartments, it's just us, so we don't have to share the perfect party space: large communal areas and rooftop terraces.

Short transfer to the accommodation with our minivans, with a welcome get-together on our rooftop terrace.

The most motivated surfers have the chance to surf as much as they can. The rest of the group, following a filling and healthy breakfast, walks down to the legendary surf spot right in front of our accommodation at low tide.
Our surf instructors and guides divide us into groups based on surfing experience to make sure we can improve the most.
For lunch we have a picnic on the beach- with a potential nap in the shade- or visit one of the traditional fish stands where they serve fresh grilled fish. Those with an abundance of energy paddle back out for some afternoon surf while the rest of the group can relax, bask in the sunset by the pool with a cocktail in hand, have a massage, or unwind with optional sunset yoga.
We dedicate one day to a visit to Essaouira, a historic port city and a popular hippie pilgrimage site since the 1970s.

We catch one last surf session either in the sunrise or after breakfast. Afterwards we head to the airport full of great memories and new friendships.
