Destinations where you would hardly go alone

There are places in the world that are simply best explored by motorcycle.

Crossing the high passes of the Himalayas or the Andes, the savannas of Tanzania, or the steppes of Mongolia would take an eternity on foot, be an almost impossible feat by bicycle, and in a car, you’d miss out on half of what these landscapes have to offer.

We help you reach these places safely and smoothly, so all you need to focus on is the ride and the experience.

One of the best tours of my life was the Balkan Rally 2024, to which a good friend invited me, in addition to the experience of a lifetime, I experienced that in addition to the truly excellent organization and the entire trip, new friendships were also born, and the entire organizing team was fantastic.

I definitely recommend them, you won’t be disappointed!

GoBeyond Stories

Our First Motorcycle Tour in Tanzania

We were eagerly awaiting a new adventure and had been on the lookout for a motorcycle destination where we could escape the European winter for summer. That’s how we set our sights on Tanzania, East Africa’s largest country, which offers far more than just the white sandy beaches of Zanzibar—it’s a place with endless surprises.

Motorcycling through the Himalayas

There are places in the world that are best explored by motorcycle. But what about the world’s most dangerous road? In the summer of 2009, I visited Ladakh, the northernmost province of India, for the first time. Due to its towering mountains and untouched Buddhist culture, many call it “Little Tibet.”

    FAQ

Not at all. Many people join our guided motorcycle tours solo, so you’ll have plenty of chances to make new friends who share your passion for adventure. Accommodations typically feature rooms with 2 or sometimes 3 beds, but if you’d prefer privacy, you can request a single-bed room for an additional fee. Just mention this preference when booking your motorbike trip.

If you have a motorcycle driving license without any limitations (referred to as category A), then you are entitled to participate in all of our motorcycle trips. For some tours, we use smaller bikes that can be ridden with limited licenses as well. Please ask your GoBeyond contact about the specific details of the trip if you have any questions or concerns.

You will need insurance that covers all motorcycle accidents and is valid in the destination. If you need assistance finding the best insurance options for motorcycle adventures, we are happy to help you secure the right coverage.

If you’re eager to join our motorcycle tour but cannot ride, you can comfortably travel in the support van, enjoying the same incredible journey while saving on the package deal. Additionally, if you’re traveling with a rider, you can often ride pillion on their motorcycle for most of our trips, allowing you to experience the adventure firsthand.

You need to pack at least two bags for your motorbike trip. The larger bag will travel in or on the backup van, and you can pack and unpack it every day at the hotel. We recommend not bringing your most expensive suitcases. Your day bag can be a backpack or something you can attach to the bike. In it, you should have your extra layers, water, camera, and any personal items you need throughout the day.

No need to worry! Our backup van, equipped with a mechanic, always follows at the end of the group. If you get a flat tire or face any issues, just pull over, relax, and enjoy the stunning scenery while the mechanic fixes your bike. Most repairs can be done in about 15 minutes, so you’ll be back on your motorcycle adventure in no time. The group leader will wait for you at the next rest stop, ensuring you never miss out on the fun!

Each expedition features a dynamic team: a professional, English-speaking local tour guide who leads the way, ensuring you discover the best routes and hidden gems. Alongside them, a skilled mechanic travels with us, fully equipped with tools and spare parts in the support vehicle, ready to handle any bike issues that may arise. Plus, there’s an additional guide in the support vehicle who can hop on your bike if needed. This dedicated local team works seamlessly with an experienced GoBeyond motorcycle tour guide, ensuring you have an unforgettable adventure on your motorcycle journey!

Our local partners can provide helmets if necessary, but keep in mind that these helmets are used and may not be of the highest quality. We recommend bringing your own helmet! You can choose the type that you prefer, but be prepared for mud and dust. We also recommend a helmet with chin protection for added safety.

All riders are required to bring their own protective gear. We don’t recommend leather motorcycle suits since we won’t be going at high speeds. Instead, opt for durable high-top hiking boots, traditional hiking boots, or motorcycle boots. It’s essential to have good protective gear, as minor falls can happen on various terrains. Also, don’t forget your waterproof clothing, as rain is a possibility at every destination!
