Olaf

Olaf has been the head of the Sulden mountain rescue team for over twenty years and an active member since 1980. No one knows the peaks of Ortler and Königspitze, the glaciers cascading from them, or the area’s freeride routes better than he does. He doesn’t talk much—just follow him, and he’ll lead you to challenges you never dreamed of, but his presence, preparation, and knowledge will help you overcome any obstacle. This is why many describe their time with him as the best untouched-powder descents of their lives.

He’s the local captain at Base Camp, not only a passionate mountain guide but also one of the village’s respected bakers.
