Chile is home to some of the Southern Hemisphere’s best ski resorts, with the season running from June to September—just when it’s summer in Europe. The vast Andes stretch across the country, and the towering volcanic peaks provide breathtaking scenery and reliable snow.
The Chilean winter offers abundant snow, significant vertical drops, exciting runs, off-piste terrain, and incredible panoramas, both in the Tres Valles region near Santiago (Valle Nevado, La Parva, and El Colorado) and in the more southern, forested, and volcanically active Nevados de Chillán. The skiing experience here is both relaxed and adventurous: days are spent on the slopes, while evenings are filled with Chilean wines, thermal baths, and the vibrant atmosphere of Latin-style towns, creating a complete travel and sports experience.
During the two-week tour, we visit Chile’s four most outstanding ski resorts across two different regions, staying overnight in the mountains, on the ocean coast, at a world-famous wine resort, and in the six-million-inhabitant capital city.
After exploring Chile, we take a fifty-minute flight across the Andes to Argentina, spending a day in Mendoza—the birthplace of Malbec red wine and a paradise of open-fire grilled cuisine.
If you’re craving a ski trip beyond the standard…
This trip is for you if you’re curious about South American culture, don’t want to wait until December to ski again, and are eager to escape the European summer to explore Chile’s winter slopes. No freeride experience is needed—the pistes are highly enjoyable, and the off-piste areas are relatively easy to access.

During the first days, we settle straight into the mountains above 2,000 meters, where we spend four nights in a simple, authentic guesthouse. From here, all three ski areas of the Tres Valles region are easily and quickly accessible. We take time to acclimatize, enjoy the incredible views, and spend three full days skiing.
From here, we continue south toward Nevados de Chillán, with a stop along the way for one night in Santa Cruz. We stay at a hotel located on the grounds of a family-run winery, where vineyard views and, of course, excellent local wines set the mood for the evening.
In Nevados de Chillán, we spend four nights in a classic mountain lodge, just a few minutes from the ski resort and the geothermal hot springs. After that, we head toward the coast and spend one night in cozy cabins at a uniquely atmospheric seaside accommodation.
During our two-night detour to Argentina, we stay in a four-star hotel in the city center, then conclude the trip in Santiago with a farewell evening at a stylish design hotel.

Most flights arrive in Santiago early in the morning, immediately immersing us in the vibrant atmosphere of the capital.
We explore the local market, and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, we wind our way up into an Andean valley to Farellones, situated at 2,300 meters, where we can already take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and breathe the fresh high-altitude air.

Chile’s most renowned and developed ski area is Tres Valles, which encompasses the ski resorts of La Parva, Valle Nevado, and El Colorado.
This region is the largest ski area in South America, offering spectacular views, varied runs, and opportunities for ski touring and freeride. Each day we explore a different valley, departing from Farellones with a short ride on our private bus transfer.

After breakfast, we head south to another mountain range, stopping along the way at Francis Mallmann’s winery and restaurant. We enjoy premium wines and roasted meats, then spend the night nearby.

In the morning, we continue driving south toward the Nevados de Chillán ski resort.
We check in at our accommodation in Las Trancas and explore the area, surrounded by volcanoes, native forests, and geothermal fields.

Over these three days, we explore the ski area and take in the stunning surrounding mountains. Nevados de Chillán offers a truly unique experience: you can ski on an active volcano and then relax in a geothermal hot spring right next to the slopes.
The resort’s iconic run, Las Tres Marías, stretches 13 kilometers, making it the longest ski run in South America.

We head back toward Santiago, spending a night along the ocean coast on the way. We explore volcanic black-sand beaches, and the adventurous can even try surfing.

We return to Santiago, board a plane, and in less than an hour fly over the Andes to Argentina, arriving in Mendoza, the country’s renowned wine capital.

We spend two nights—and a full day in between—in Mendoza, the home of Malbec, exploring the city and the surrounding wine region.

We explore the city, shop for souvenirs, and say good bye to Chile with a farewell dinner.

Depending on the flight schedule, we head to the airport, returning home with unforgettable experiences and new friendships.
