Description

France and Switzerland are home to the world’s biggest connected ski area with hundreds of kilometres of runs available for skiing or snowboarding. This means you find new pistes to explore, without ever having to cover the same track twice. Here, you gaze around and see nothing but snowy peaks over 3,000 metres high stretching as far as the eye can see. It’s a view you won’t forget anytime soon!

GoBeyond was founded on a passion for freeride skiing, and there are few things we know more about than organizing ski camps that are top-notch in every way. Besides the endless possibilities of skiing on the pistes, you can also hit the fresh snow and freeride down the mountain. From the lower, wooded areas to the open, high-altitude terrain, there are challenges to suit all skill levels and weather conditions for those who venture off the trails.

Our primary goal is to make the most of our time on the mountain, staying outside from opening to closing in small groups or independently. Community building is also an important aspect, and the best ways to achieve this are socialising on the chalets’ terraces after skiing and participating in in-house ski competitions, either as a competitor or spectator. If the conditions are right, we also organise freeride, banked slalom and jib competitions.

Riding off-piste in fresh snow offers a completely different experience to skiing or snowboarding on blue, red, or black slopes. Away from the marked slopes, you can get closer to nature, but you need a different kind of knowledge. Once you try it, you always crave the freeride experience. During the camp, you can sign up for organised freeride tours led by a certified mountain guide.

Dedication

Returning to the site of the very first GoBeyond camp

We visit the ski resorts of the French Alps every winter for the past 20 years, so we instantly identify the best freeride zones based on a simple piste map. Over the years, we have shown the slopes to thousands of people and even organised competitions. We know where to find the best conditions in the forest or above the tree line, depending on the weather and avalanche risk, and we also know which hut serves fresh oysters. And of course, we know what makes a week-long mountain camp an unforgettable community experience.

After a few years of hiatus and focusing on exotic destinations, we want to return to our roots and organise a larger, affordable ski camp every season, which can be enjoyed by those who imagine skiing as relaxed time on smaller slopes, and those who live for freeriding from opening to closing.

Our base is a typical fully equipped Alpine ski-in, ski-out apartment, with 6, 8 or 10 beds. The small kitchen is perfect for freshly baked croissant breakfasts and cozy fondue dinners. On the terrace you enjoy the view of the mountains with some cold beers. The apartments are located at the base of the mountain near the ski lift.

In addition to a 6-day ski pass, the package includes social and après-ski programmes, as well as friendly competition organisation. Ski lessons and freeride tours led by qualified and experienced mountain guides can be added to the package upon request for an additional fee. Registration for competitions is optional, so the registration fee is not included in the basic snow package.

High mountain weather as spring approaches: sunshine, snowfall, and milder days. Temperatures range between -10 °C and +10 °C.

Besides amazing freeriding, you experience spa and sauna culture, along with high-quality French and Swiss restaurants offering gourmet dining.

You need insurance that is valid in France and covers ski accidents. If you want to ski off-piste, your insurance must cover this as well. Contact us and we will be happy to help you find the best option for you.

You can stock up in local shops and bakeries for the week, with some amazing cheese, sausages, beers and local wine. We also visit several hüttes for lunch and local restaurants for dinner.

High mountain peaks and forest trails, February & March are the periods with the most fresh powder.

Around 100 people who have travelled with us before, along with their friends and family.

We make high-quality content in all our camps. You will receive the photos after returning home to remember all the amazing memories.

Depending on spending habits, your budget for the trip ranges from €300 to €600. For reference, a meal costs between €10-25, and entry to the spa is approximately €25.

Day 1

Arrival

Arrive in the mountains, check into the apartments, and enjoy the first beers on the terrace. In the evening we hold a group briefing to discuss details for the week taking in account snowfall and weather conditions.

Day 2-7

Ride, eat, sleep & repeat

Based on the snow conditions and weather forecasts, we make daily recommendations on where to ski. Groups are usually organised according to skill level and groups of friends, so everyone can ski and snowboard where and how they want. There is also opportunity to join organised freeride tours and competitions.

Day 2-7

Freeride, banked slalom, and jib competitions

During the week, participants test their skills in fun competitions organised by the GoBeyond Snow expert team and local partners. These may include a freeride competition in the backcountry, a professionally timed banked slalom course with banked turns and jumps, or a jib session on a jump at the course’s edge, all supervised by local mountain rescuers.

Day 2-7

Foodie experiences & Après-ski fun

While snow sports are the focus of the week, there is also plenty of time to enjoy après-ski in style. Taste the region’s best cheeses, enjoy a glass of Kronenbourg, and discover exceptional French wines.

Day 8

Departure

After enjoying the last freshly baked croissant and baguette breakfast of the week, we will check out of our apartments and say goodbye to the mountains.

The program is subject to change at any time. The final itinerary depends on current weather and snow conditions, the group’s skiing/snowboarding skills and stamina.

The scenery was beautiful, the slopes were great and the company was great again!

Probably the most beautiful little French mountain village we have ever been to was St Gervais. I also loved the sightseeing tour of Chamonix and of course the team slides!

Gabor

Gáspár and the others put us on the toboggan with great enthusiasm, we gained 8000 meters of altitude per day – of course we skied just as much downhill, it was very good.

    FAQ

Due to the size of the apartments (4-6-8 people), it is practical to apply as a group, but this is not a requirement; we help everyone find compatible roommates.

You don’t need to be a pro to join, this camp is all about learning, exploring, and building community. If you’re confident on red slopes and curious about going off-piste, it’s the perfect place to start freeriding. We divide into smaller groups based on skill level, so no one gets left behind or held back. Even if you’ve never stepped into skis before, you’re welcome — everyone finds their own adventure and crew here.

We stay high in the mountains, where March can bring a mix of winter and early spring conditions. Expect anything from -10°C on cold mornings to +10°C on sunny afternoons. Weather can shift quickly from clear skies to snow showers and gusty winds so it’s best to pack for all possibilities. Multiple layers work better than one heavy jacket, giving you flexibility as conditions change throughout the day.

The guided freeride tours are led by certified IFMGA guides while the community programs will be organised and led by GoBeyond tour guides.

Ski or snowboard equipment and appropriate ski clothing, preferably suitable for off-piste skiing, plus a basic avalanche safety kit (transceiver, probe, shovel). Let us know if you need any help with the equipment in advance.

The accommodation is always high standard apartments with fully equipped kitchen, therefore your spending mostly depends on how much you use your kitchen and how often you eat out. Very low budget case: €200, but with an excessive visit of mountain restaurants and bars it can climb up to €600 or even more. Guided freeride tours cost €150 per day, and competition entry fees can range from €0 to €50.

You should choose an insurance that covers off-piste skiing, and is valid in France. You should be aware that the blue EU health insurance card and the insurance of your bank card is not valid in most cases.

Every apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, and supermarkets offer fresh, healthy, and gourmet French products (cheese, wine, foie gras, etc.). In town, you also find plenty of opportunities to try Savoyard specialities such as fondue and raclette.
