Dorje

Dorje grew up on the slopes of the Himalayas and has spent his life motorcycling and guiding. He’s a true mountain fox—the most experienced guide in the area. Since 2016, we’ve been working with him and his family on our trips here. They provide the motorcycles, plan the routes, and re-plan them when the terrain demands, which is a common occurrence in this region.

Dorje’s connections reach everywhere—from the military to government administration to tourism—everyone knows him, and in this area, that’s invaluable. Only once has he missed part of a trip, and that was because a viper bit him in his garden the morning of departure. Naturally, he didn’t miss the trip; he rejoined us two days later, back on his bike with a bandaged leg. He’s a true mountain man, tough as they come.
