You’ll find both options among our trips. Most of our tours within Europe are done with your own car, so you can set off in a vehicle you already know and trust. For more distant destinations, we arrange rental cars, always selecting the type that best fits the route and conditions. This way, the vehicle is perfectly suited to both the terrain and the overall experience.

These trips are primarily designed for couples or small groups, as traveling together simply makes it a bigger adventure, but solo travelers are absolutely welcome too.

If you’re joining with your own car, participating alone is straightforward. On trips where we arrange rental cars, however, solo participation may involve a single supplement, or we can match you with another participant so you can share the drive and the experience.

Accommodation typically includes rooms with 2 or sometimes 3 beds. If you prefer more privacy, you can request a single room for an additional fee, just let us know when booking.

In most destinations, a valid domestic driving license is sufficient. However, in some countries (such as Japan), an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required. You can always find the specific requirements in the trip description, but if you’re unsure, feel free to reach out, we’re happy to help.

If you’re eager to join our motorcycle tour but cannot ride, you can comfortably travel in the support van, enjoying the same incredible journey while saving on the package deal. Additionally, if you’re traveling with a rider, you can often ride pillion on their motorcycle for most of our trips, allowing you to experience the adventure firsthand.

You will need travel insurance that covers road travel and driving-related incidents, and is valid in your destination country.

If you’re traveling with your own car, we recommend checking with your insurance provider to ensure your vehicle is fully covered for the entire duration of the trip.

On trips where we arrange rental cars, we will always inform you about the available insurance options and help you choose the right coverage.

Depending on the destination, we either travel with a dedicated mechanic or work with trusted local partners and experienced guides who will help us find a solution as quickly as possible.

Our trips are typically led by experienced GoBeyond tour leaders together with local experts who know the destination, the routes, and the program inside out. They’re there to guide the journey and make sure everything runs smoothly, while staying flexible to the group’s needs.

We also offer self-guided adventures, where your own crew takes the lead, giving you more freedom and control over the experience.

No prior off-road experience is required. Even on our more rugged routes, basic driving skills gained on regular roads are enough to participate safely. Some trips do take place in more extreme terrain, but we design the routes and provide guidance so that they remain accessible for confident everyday drivers.

There are several solutions. Many participants choose to transport their cars by trailer or use car transport trains where available.

We’re happy to help you find the best option and organize the logistics, so your car arrives ready for the adventure without unnecessary mileage.
