We cross the massive Andes passes through wild forests and rivers, reaching an altitude of 4000 meters. There, we arrive at Bolivia’s famous high plateau, the Altiplano, where happy llama herds graze on tufts of grass. We spend all day riding through the world’s largest, incredibly spectacular salt flat, enjoying the intoxication of freedom, or experiencing the Mad Max atmosphere among the dilapidated steel giants of an abandoned train cemetery, only to rest in the world-famous salt hotel in the evening.
From the stark world of the Altiplano, we head towards La Paz to conquer the infamous Death Road. Fortunately, since the mid-90s, it no longer claims numerous victims, thanks to the new road built on the other side of the valley. Nowadays, the single-lane road winding among 1000-meter-high cliffs, dense vegetation, and waterfalls cascading over the path is only traveled by adventurers like us, seeking this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
As we ride between the 5-6000 meter high, snow-capped mountain peaks, many cultural experiences await us. We take a break in both capitals of Bolivia: in Sucré, famous for its intact colonial architecture, and La Paz, the world’s highest capital nestled among the Andes.
We visit a silver mine at the former site of the colonial Spanish silver mint, which used to be the richest city in the world in the 16th century. We spend a night in the town where Che Guevara was once captured. Our accommodation has been converted from the old telegraph house, from where the operator notified the authorities about the appearance of the guerrilla leader.
Bolivia is a country of extremes: it is home to South America’s highest and most isolated region, and it has the highest percentage of indigenous residents. Unforgettable experiences are guaranteed on our two-week tour as we cover almost 1800 kilometers from Santa Cruz to La Paz, riding the iconic Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycles through diverse terrains and breathtaking landscapes.

Arriving in Santa Cruz, we acclimatise to the humid South American climate in a 5-star hotel with pool. During the motorcycle tour we spend three nights in unique, authentic accommodation: a family farmhouse, a lodge transformed from the old telegraph house where Che Guevara was once dispatched, and a panoramic eco-lodge next to the Death Road.
For two nights, enjoy the unique interiors and spa facilities of the world's first 5-star salt hotel, located next to the salt flats. We spend three nights in simple 3-4 star small town hotels and two nights in a 5 star hotel in La Paz.
